Folder Slice Enhanced Tags

Introduction

Folder Slice now supports enhanced tags. You can create multi-level tag structures for more precise categorization and faster searching.

Use multi-level enhanced tags to filter files in Folder Slice

Main Features

  • Multi-level tags: Create parent-child tag relationships for better organization.
  • Quick search: Find resources quickly using tags to boost your productivity.
  • Flexible combinations: Combine tags in different ways to fit your needs.

How to Enable

To use enhanced tags, make sure your Folder Slice is updated to v1.4.0 or above.

Go to Settings - Filter and turn on the Enhanced Tags feature.

Create Tags

Manage Tags for a Single File

Right-click a file and select Enhanced Tags to open the tag management window.

Here, you can add, edit, or delete tags for the file.

You can add multi-level tags like Assets/Design/Icons or single tags like Design.

If you add multi-level tags, Folder Slice will create the parent-child structure automatically.

Add Tags in Bulk

Select multiple files, right-click, and choose Enhanced Tags to open the bulk tag window.

You can add the same tags to all selected files.

You can add multi-level or single tags as needed.

Remove Tags from Files

Right-click a file, select Enhanced Tags, and remove unwanted tags in the tag management window.

Search Resources by Tag

After enabling enhanced tags, click the enhanced tag icon in the top filter area to open the tag filter panel.

All your tags will show in a tree structure. Click a tag to filter related resources.

For multi-level tags, clicking a parent tag will show all its child tags. You can select any child tag to filter further.

Delete Tags

In the tag filter panel, find the tag, right-click, and select Delete.

Rename Tags

In the tag filter panel, find the tag, right-click, and select Rename.

Tag Invalid for Files

As a third-party file manager, Folder Slice’s tag feature depends on your file system. If you delete or rename a file in the file system, its path changes and the tag may become invalid.

When you search by tag, Folder Slice will check if the files still exist. If a file is missing or changed, Folder Slice will show you the invalid file info and let you move to the new file or delete the record.
